Jack's letter to Drums Along The Mohawk:
Three years later, I can’t believe it’s coming to an end. My first audition camp was January 2017, and over two years later, this activity still makes me as happy as it did when I was sitting in the stands at DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK in 2015, my first drum corps show ever! I am aging out this summer at 7th Regiment, an Open Class Corps from New London, CT. This is one of the biggest factors into me staying at 7th for my entire drum corps career. Being able to contribute to the growth and being with a group of people who all have the same goals of growing the corps and getting better made it really easy for me to stay at my second home. The other thing that keeps me coming back to drum corps is the relationships I’ve made with my friends not only at 7th but pretty much all of the member corps of DCI. Going into my age-out year this summer, I’d like to thank everyone that has been a part of my DCI journey, and I cannot wait to represent this great state of New York and Central New York specifically on the road one last time.
Recommendation: Nathan Kim, Front Ensemble Instructor, 7th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps
I have had the privilege of knowing Jack as his percussion instructor for the last two years in 7th Regiment front ensemble ... Drum Corps is about much more than the music, drill and spinning that members perform in show. It’s about the dedication, teamwork and character that they put into the shows and carry with them in life ... I can always count on Jack to demonstrate these traits and help elevate everyone around him both on and off the field. His ability to put others first and meet every challenge with positivity and enthusiasm is exemplary of what it takes to succeed in this activity.
